California Offender Program Services (COPS)

COPS is a diversion program that offers classes to address offenders who are minors. The courses are based upon a reality oriented educational model where the offenders learn that they are responsible and accountable to the community for their unlawful behavior. The model has proven to reduce participant recidivism by 90 percent.

The courses are presented in a group format utilizing the facilitation process. Conducted in an interactive format, it includes such techniques as carefully sequenced question, pairing and group discussions, role-playing and guided interaction.
