Wellness + Prevention

OPEN DOORS.
OPEN
HEARTS.

Healing from the inside out.

Recognizing that healing takes time and requires trusting relationships, we provide the safe space for young people to be vulnerable, share their feelings, and find true support from peers and caring adults. We incorporate trauma-informed care principles, social-emotional learning and restorative justice practices to create an environment that allows for true connection and growth.

Substance Use Prevention

To build a healthy community, we create safe spaces in which middle and high school students and parents learn about and discuss substance use and its harmful effects. From leading workshops on coping and refusal strategies to campaign projects that promote healthy lifestyles, we believe in the power of the youth to be the change they want to see.

Additional Programs & Services

Holistic support that cares about your well-being.

  • Our Youth Mentoring Program supports meaningful opportunities for youth members to work alongside mentors that share their interests and lived experiences, and are uniquely positioned to help them navigate their current life circumstances while in pursuit of achieving future goals. Mentors from local colleges are trained to use restorative justice practices and create a safe space for self-expression, modeling social-emotional skills, growth mindset, and how to recognize and prevent bullying.

  • Our Community Outreach and Health Promotora program is committed to making sure community members are well informed and have access to resources and support for their overall health, safety and well-being. We take time to build relationships and share vital health and immunization resources with residents at local events and through 1-on-1 outreach. We listen to learn and advocate about the people’s needs and dreams for the future. We provide ongoing support navigating up to date resources to those who need it. Our team of Spanish-speaking Promotoras ensures that services are culturally and linguistically appropriate.

This program has been shown to enhance self-esteem and build strong connections between peers who are on similar journeys of self-reflection and change. Participants are also provided one-on-one support and financial capability workshops to support their goals.
